  • Declaration of Independence
    The U.S. Declaration of Independence is the historical document adopted on July 4th, 1776 by the Continental Congress announcing the independence of the 13 American colonies from Great Britain.

  • United States Constitution
    The U.S. Constitution is the historical document adopted on September 17th, 1787 which serves as the supreme law and governing framework for the United States of America.

  • The Bill of Rights (Constitutional Amendments 1-10)
    The U.S. Bill of Rights was ratified on December 15th, 1791 by the First United States Congress. It contains the first ten Constitutional Amendments protecting the natural rights of liberty and property, which includes free speech, free press, free assembly, and right to bear arms.

  • Constitutional Amendments 11-27
    The additional Constitutional Amendments have been added through a process of ratification that requires three-fourths of the state or convention thereof. These amendments range from the abolishment of slavery to establishing age 18 as the national voting age.
